Snapchat rolls out new look app to all iPhone users in bid to fix botched redesign

SNAPCHAT users on iPhone are getting its overhauled app first.
The update, which aims to fix everything that went wrong with the company's controversial redesign, is rolling out on iOS right now.
As a result, Stories from your friends will be swapped back to the right-hand-side of the app and snaps and chats will revert to chronological order again.
The app is also adding a separate subscriptions feed to help you track down Storiesfrom popular creators and celebs.
Both these changes were previously appearing for a small pool of users as part of Snapchat's experiments in the wake of its redesign fallout.
The debacle that was the original update landed with a thud in November, ushering in two distinct tabs on either side of the app's home screen camera.
These sections essentially separated your friends' posts from that of media publishers.
Users almost immediately began blasting the new look, even setting up a petition to have it removed (which has amassed 1.2 million signatures).
Meanwhile, Snapchat power user Kylie Jenner – who at one point was estimated to be among the most popular people on the service – sent the company's stock plummeting after tweeting her scepticism over the new style.
The firm finally admitted its fault upon announcing its below-par revenue and user growth, both of which had been dented by the update.
“Our redesign created some headwinds in our revenue this quarter by disrupting user behavior and creating some apprehension among our advertising partners” said Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel.
He continued: “We learned that combining watching Stories and communicating with friends into the same place made it harder to optimize for both competing behaviors.
"We are currently rolling out an update to address this by sorting communication by recency and moving Stories from friends to the right side of the application, while maintaining the structural changes we have made around separating friends from creators and sorting friends’ Stories by relationships.”
Snapchat will be hoping the tweak will restore order, but it's not yet said when it will come to Android.
